CHICLANA DE LA FRONTERA: MONUMENTOS

It
offers interesting views over the Natural Park of the Bay of Cádiz and
the municipality of Chiclana and its coast. In its interior are preserved
the image of Santa Ana and the Virgen Niña, a work by the sculptor
Domingo Giscardi ( 18th century ).
CHURCH OF SAN SEBASTIAN,
from 16th century, that has been completely reformed. |

HOSPITAL OF SAN MARTIN, dating from 16th century, that has only
preserved its Baroque retables after many reforms.
THE CLOCK TOWER, from 18th century , known as
“Arquillo del Reloj” ( The little arc of the clock). This tower was
part of the old Cabildo (Town Council) ,sited in the Plaza Mayor ( Main
Square).
HOUSE PALACE OF CONDE DEL PINAR., from
18th century.
HOUSE OF THE VEA MURGUÍA FAMILY, also
from the 18th century.
THE TOWN HALL, one of
the first buildings made of concrete in Spain.
THE WATCH TOWERS OF BERMEJA AND EL PUERCO
in the Barrosa beach.
THE CASTLE OF SANCTI PETRI, a 18th
century fortress, except the tower that dates from 16th century.It is
built on the little island of the same name in the site of the –Temple
of Hercules Melkart.
TUNNY FISHING TOWN OF SANCTI PETRI,
from this century, with a wide fishing activity until 1973. |
